Alex Somlyay

Alexander Michael Somlyay (born 18 January 1946), Australian politician, has been a Liberal member of the Australian House of Representatives since March 1990, representing the Division of Fairfax, Queensland. He was born in Budapest, Hungary, and came to Australia as a child. He was educated at the Australian National University. He was a public servant, consultant economist and company director before entering politics.[1]

Somlyay was Minister for Regional Development, Territories and Local Government from 1997 to 1998.[1]
