Alexander John Russell (born 17 March 1973 in Crosby) is an English professional footballer formerly with Bristol City. He plays in central midfield. His father, also called Alex, played professionally for Southport.
In January 2008 Russell joined League One side Cheltenham Town on a one month loan.[1] On 31st January, Russell's loan was extended to the end of the season.
