[edit] Character
Alex first arrived in Summer Bay in February 2001 just before his sister Leah's wedding to Vinnie Patterson, Alex was also there to escape from his parents and become independent. Alex later started his own business Alex Electrix and secured a contract with Donald Fisher at Summer Bay High and began working at the diner as a chef.
Alex tried to catch the attentions of Dani Sutherland, who at the time was in the middle of a break from her current Boyfriend, Will Smith, but ultimately failed. Alex then went on to have a relationship with Brodie Hanson, Dani's foster sister.
Alex and Brodie were happy together for a while but Alex decided to end things once he felt Brodie was getting too serious.
It wasn't until Alex's old friend, Miles Alcott appeared in the bay and began dating Brodie, that Alex began to feel jealous. One night, Alex, Miles and Brodie were involved in a car crash due to a pothole in the road, leading to Miles' death. Brodie blamed Alex for a while but forgave him after the inquest proved Miles' death was accidental
Sometime later, Alex began seeing an older woman named Kelly, who owned the company who supplied cakes to the Bayside diner. Kelly who had two kids and was separated from her violent husband, Jason. When Jason got wind of this, he began attacking Alex. Jesse McGregor, Vinnie's friend and cell mate intervened and hospitalized Jason.
After Jason was jailed for stalking Kelly, she took the kids and ended things with Alex. Alex was left on his own again and later reunited with Brodie, but it was short lived as Brodie had planned to travel once she had finished Year 12.
During late 2003, Alex began dating Hayley Smith who had broken up with her boyfriend, Noah Lawson but continued to remain in the same house. Alex had also moved into "The Palace". Everything seemed fine for the couple, but when Brodie returned in 2004, Alex was torn between the two girls.
Following a crash that left Hayley disfigured with memory loss, Alex and Brodie decided to get engaged and leave the bay for Cyprus, but didn't know how to break the news to Hayley.
Several months later, viewers learned via Leah that Alex and Brodie had married.
Alex returned in 2007 without Brodie because he had divorced her. He briefly stayed in a caravan at the caravan park and seemed to be selling drugs for money. Alex quickly became friends with Cassie Turner. After Leah caught him with a drug stash, she decided not to inform the cops but to have him leave her life.
