Alex Pierson

Alex Pierson is a Canadian Television Reporter and Anchor.

Alex began working in television back in 1996 at CHCH in Hamilton and then becoming an employee of A-Channel Calgary. A few years later she returned and began working at The New VR in Barrie followed by her joining Citytv in Toronto.

For a few years she was the co-anchor of Toronto's CityNews Tonight with Mark Dailey. Not only anchoring that 11:00 newscast, Alex also reported for CityNews at Six. Doing frequent live reports Alex became a popular Citytv personality.

Alex left Citytv in September 2006.

As of July 2007, Alex started reporting for Toronto's Global News as a reporter for their News Hour newscasts, weeknights at 6:00pm, and she recently started anchoring weekends. Alex just won two RTNDA's including; the Dan McArthur Award for indepth investigative journalism and the Edward R. Murrow award for investigative reporting for a trucking series that ran last November. That report also led to changes to provincial laws regarding licening.

She was seen in February 2008 at the christening of the ship Robert S. Pierson in Sarnia, Ontario. It was being named after her late father. She was once named for a ship with her sisters called the Pierson Daughters.
