Alex John Banal (b. December 28, 1988) , more commonly known as A.J. Banal, is a super flyweight boxer. Originally from Bukidnon, he now resides in Cebu City. In his recent bout, he won the IBF super flyweight title eliminator against Caril Herrera by a 4th round technical knockout on April 6, 2008.

[edit] Career Beginnings
Banal's interest in boxing began through the inspiration of his uncle, Roselito CampaƱa, who's an ex-boxer. He turned professional in 2005. In his professional debut on June 11, 2005, he ended up with a draw against Sonny Saguing. Since then, he went on a winning streak.[1]
