Alexander Jose Herrera (born November 5, 1976 in Maracaibo, Zulia State, Venezuela) is a Major League Baseball left-handed relief pitcher who is currently a free agent. His only major league experience came with the Cleveland Indians (2002-2003).
In 2004, Herrera played with the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, the Triple-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies. After becoming a free agent after the 2004 season, Herrera signed with the Atlanta Braves, playing for their Triple-A affiliate, the Richmond Braves, in 2005. After being released by the Braves on May 9, 2005, Herrera played in the independent leagues before having his contract purchased by the Detroit Tigers on January 3, 2006, and being assigned to their Triple-A affiliate, the Toledo Mud Hens.
In his majors career, Herrera has compiled a 0-0 record with 11 strikeouts and a 5.11 ERA in 12.1 innings.
