Alex Graveley (legal name Balabhadra Battacarya Graveley) is a professional software developer based in San Francisco. He is known in the free software community for his work on GNOME, and for creating the Tomboy, Gimmie, and Pyro Desktop projects.
Graveley has worked for VMware Inc. as an engineer since 2004 on its Linux desktop products. He was technical lead on the VMware Workstation 6.0 software release in May, 2007.
From 2000 to 2003, Graveley worked for Ximian Inc. on projects including Ximian Desktop, Novell Evolution, and the HTTP client library libsoup.
He dropped out of high school in the 10th grade, and has spent considerable time traveling abroad in Brazil and Southeast Asia.
