Alessandro Bonora

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Alessandro Bonora (born May 24, 1978) is an Italian cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-pace bowler. He has played for Italy since 2000. Born in Bordighera, Bonora first represented the Italian team at the 2000 European Championship, in a loss against Scotland, a season which saw the Italians finish tenth from twelve teams in the Division One table.

Two years later, Italy were relegated from Division One, despite Bonora making his way up to opening batsman at the expense of teammate and Lancashire's Australian-born Italian representative Joe Scuderi.

Italy made their way back up to the first division come 2006, but Bonora's previous surge in form let him down with frequent single-figure scores as Italy finished fifth from five teams in the points table.
