Alentejo Central is a NUTS2 subregion of the Alentejo, in Portugal. Alentejo Central is comprised entirely of of the District of Évora,plus integrates a municipality of the District of Portalegre, Sousel. The chief city is Evora.Other cities:Estremoz,Montemor-o-Novo,Vendas Novas and Reguengos de Monsaraz. As of 2001, the subregion had a population of 173,401 inhabitants and a total area of 7,227 km².
