Aleksei (born Lazar) Yakovlevich Kapler (also Alexei, Russian: Алексей (born Лазарь) Яковлевич Каплер; Kiev, {Moscow, 11 October 1903 Old Style[1]11 September 1979 ) was a Soviet filmmaker, screenwriter, actor, and writer. He was known as an anchor and director of the TV program Kinopanorama (a cinema overview).

He is also known for his brief romance with Joseph Stalin's daughter, Svetlana Alliluyeva. It is alleged that the latter fact was the reason for Kapler to be declared an "English spy" and sentenced to labor camps in 1942.
