Alejandro Rey (February 8, 1930 – May 21, 1987) was an Argentine actor.
Rey was born in Buenos Aires and became famous as an actor in Argentine movies before making the decision to emigrate to the United States in 1960. He was most famous for his roles in movies like Fun in Acapulco with Elvis Presley (1963), as well as the lead in The Stepmother (1972). On television, he was most famous for his role as Carlos Ramirez the entrepreneur, casino owner, bachelor and ladies man in The Flying Nun, a role he played from 1967 to 1970. He went on to play Karl Duval on Days of Our Lives from 1976 to 1977.
In 1967, he became a naturalized citizen of the United States.
He married Joyce Bowman on 24 May 1969 in Los Angeles, CA. She was the adopted daughter of attorney and long-time president of the Santa Ana School District Frank Bowman and his wife Dorothy.
They had one son Brandon A. Rey who was born 9 February 1973 in Los Angeles, CA. Alejandro Rey died in Los Angeles of lung cancer, and was interred in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, California.
