Aleš Čeh

Aleš Čeh (born 7 April 1968 in Maribor) is a former Slovenian footballer who has represented his country at the two major tournaments for which they have qualified (Euro 2000 and Football World Cup 2002).

He played for the youth teams of NK Ljubljana, later as professional also for city rivals NK Olimpija. In 1992 he was transferred to Austria's 2nd division side Grazer AK, where he had great success, became idol for the fans and player for his national side. With his steady powerful midfield-play he helped the Athletiks back to top-flight in 1995, became soon one of Austrians top-clubs again. After winning Cup and Supercup in 2000 and 2002 he left GAK in summer 2003 for a short-term for NK Maribor until winter 2004, before he went back to Austria, this time for Second Division side LASK Linz, where he played from spring 2005 to summer 2006.
