Aldeanueva de la Vera is a municipality located in the province of Cáceres, Extremadura, Spain. According to the 2006 census (INE), the municipality has a population of 2304 inhabitants. Aldeanueva the la Vera is situated in the Sierra de Gredos and has nice mountain creeks as Garganta los Gauchos and Garganta San Georgio. It produces tobacco, figs, cherries, red pepper powder (pimenton la casareña) and a regional wine "pitarra". It is in the middle of an important tourist area, La Vera. You can find a nice stay for the night in vacation cottage la oropendola in the Gredos mountains and also in some other typical hotels, campings and vacation houses. The main tourist attractions are the very beautiful nature of this area (rural tourism), walking track Ruta del Emperador and Cuacos de Yuste where Emperor Charles V spent his last years in the Monasterio de Yuste.
