Alda is a village in Hall County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 652 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Grand Island, Nebraska Micropolitan Statistical Area.

Alda is located at 40°52′8″N, 98°28′7″W (40.868932, -98.468529)[3].

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.3 square miles (0.9 km²), all of it land.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 652 people, 237 households, and 172 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,859.3 people per square mile (719.3/km²). There were 248 housing units at an average density of 707.2/sq mi (273.6/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 95.55% White, 0.31% African American, 0.31% Native American, 0.15% Asian, 2.91% from other races, and 0.77% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 7.06% of the population.

There were 237 households out of which 42.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.0% were married couples living together, 13.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.4% were non-families. 21.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 3.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.75 and the average family size was 3.20.

In the village the population was spread out with 31.7% under the age of 18, 10.4% from 18 to 24, 31.6% from 25 to 44, 19.6% from 45 to 64, and 6.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 33 years. For every 100 females there were 105.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 99.6 males.

The median income for a household in the village was $34,583, and the median income for a family was $39,219. Males had a median income of $24,375 versus $19,722 for females. The per capita income for the village was $18,259. About 7.6% of families and 8.6% of the population were below the poverty line, including 11.5% of those under age 18 and 1.9% of those age 65 or over.
