Alcyoneus (or Alkyoneus) was eldest of the Thracian Gigantes. He was born (like all other Gigantes)in full armor with a spear in his hand.[1] He was the most prominent of the Gigantes who led a major rebellion against the Olympian Gods. He was immortal in his homeland Pallene. When Alcyoneus was pushed out from his homeland, he was killed by Hercules. His seven daughters are the Alkyonides.
