Alcaidesa is a sea-side resort (residential and commercial) near Algeciras, Spain (neighbouring the Urban San Roque club, La Línea de la Concepción and Sotogrande), within the administrative area of Cadiz in Andalucia. The resort was developed pursuant to a joint venture agreement between Costain PLC (a British company) and Banesto Bank [1].
Construction originally started in the 1990s. Alcaidesa Inmobiliaria (the Costain/Banesto joint venture company) owns the land and various developers have completed, and are in the process of completing, the building developments. Many buildings are still under construction. The golf course is said to be the only links course in Spain.
The village contains a couple of hotels. One exclusively serves the German market (Aldiana). The beach is linked to the beach in la Linea therefore it is possible to see Gibraltar (a British overseas territory).
