I agree that it should be deleted. There is now no need for it, especially because it has been replaced with a more complete Wikipedia Article.AlbertJohnSwallow 07:26, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
Hi Albert, you may want to disable OnSpeed for wikipedia.org if this happens to you regularly. Due to the way it works, you true IP address is masked from our servers and you may end up sharing one with a just-banned vandal. See Wikipedia:Google Web Accelerator for a more thorough explanation that also applies to you.
[edit] License tagging for Image:Leghs of Adlington.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:Leghs of Adlington.gif. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Commercial use of Image:Courtyard from the south-west.jpg
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Courtyard from the south-west.jpg, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Courtyard from the south-west.jpg is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only" or "used with permission for use on Wikipedia only" which was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19 or is not used in any articles (CSD I3).
If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.
If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.
If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Image:Courtyard from the south-west.jpg itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. If you have any questions about what to do next or why your image was nominated for speedy deletion please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thanks. --Android Mouse Bot 2 16:31, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
I am confused by all this. Am I supposed to re-upload the picture now, possibly to Wikipedia Commons? Or is it OK now?AlbertJohnSwallow 07:30, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
I have now re-uploaded it to Wikipedia Commons anyway.AlbertJohnSwallow 16:00, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Alderley Edge population figures
Hello. the changes you made to the census figures resulted in some inaccuracies because the text referred to the civil parish, whereas the website you cited clearly states it is the ward that is meant. The ward is not the same as the civil parish (see Wards of the United Kingdom for an article that makes this point) and so I've re-added the civil parish figures which meant also reinstating the references in the standard form we tend to use throughout Cheshire. For your edits to have been correct, you would have also had to rewrite a lot of the surrounding text, which might have been difficult since the village and the civil parish are "bound together" in the article. However, I have also added the ward figures, since you had kindly looked them up, and made their citations fit in with the rest. The "Notes" section now is fixed (your edits made it a text-less section), and I think this resolves the situation. I hope this is all right. Best wishes. DDStretch (talk) 20:24, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Railway line in Prestbury
There is only one railway station in Prestbury, so it is unnecessary to specify the line. No argument with the 1st part of this statement, but please reconsider the 2nd: it makes sense to say, in general terms, which line the station is on. And use the contemporary and meaningful name, even if it's not the official one: in this case probably 'Manchester-Macclesfield-Stoke on Trent' would be the best (London or B'ham trains do not stop at P.)
Anyway, this is just a suggestion, I'm not going to start edit war on this point :-) --Jotel 16:17, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image source problem with Image:Bryant, 1831.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:Bryant, 1831.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:43, 23 October 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. [edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Macclesfield Road.jpg
Thank you for uploading Image:Macclesfield Road.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 06:59, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
