It would be useful if there were more sources attributed in this article. I have cleaned up the English which had a large number of common German to English mistranslations especially incorrect prepositions

In addition - since this is originally from a German text and the events take place in Ulm in Germany, I have restored the original German nouns with the English nouns in brackets in italics. If anyone wanted, for example to see the wings displayed in the City Hall, they would have obviously to ask or look for directions to the Ulmer Rathaus and the name of the river is Donnau in German.
