What was Barnes's theology in question for which he was tried? 71.34.46.175
Apparently he denied that any individual man was personally responsible for Adam's sin, and affirmed rather that because of Adam's sin, all men sin (i.e. all men have a nature to sin), and only for their own sins will they be held guilty in the judgment. Considering God's words in Ezekiel (to paraphrase, the fathers shall not be judged for the children's sins, nor the children for the fathers) this isn't entirely untenable... 76.170.243.84 (talk) 23:08, 13 May 2008 (UTC)u
