From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Albion Rovers Football Club (Albion Rovers F.C.) are a Welsh football team from the city of Newport, who from 1993 to 2005 played in the Welsh Football League. At the end of the 2004-05 season, they were relegated back to the Gwent County League.
The team was formed by Scottish coalminers who moved to Wales for work in 1937. They named the team after Albion Rovers F.C. of their homeland in Coatbridge. They currently play at Crindau Park (also known as Kimberley Park) but have also shared Newport Stadium with Newport County. Famous ex-players include Nathan Blake.
