Alberto Dahik

Alberto Dahik Garzozzi is Ecuadorian politician of Lebanese ancestry.
Dahik was educated in economics in Princeton University. He served as Finance Minister from 1985 to 1987 and member of Congress from 1988 to 1992.
In 1992 Sixto Durán Ballén chose Dahik as his running mate in the presidential election, which he won. As Vice President in Sixto Durán Balléns administration Dahik was responsible in designing economic policies. He was important member of Conservative Party.
In 1995 Supreme Court announced that it had enough evidency to arrest Dahik on charges of embezzlement, but Dahik managed to flee to Costa Rica. He still lives in exile.
