Albert H. Tracy

Albert Haller Tracy (June 17, 1793 - September 19, 1859) was a U.S. Representative from New York, brother of Phineas Lyman Tracy.
Born in Norwich, Connecticut, Tracy pursued classical studies. He studied medicine. He moved to New York State in 1811. Abandoned medicine and studied law. He was admitted to the bar and commenced practice in Buffalo, New York, in 1815.
Tracy was elected to the Sixteenth, Seventeenth, and Eighteenth Congresses (March 4, 1819-March 3, 1825). He served as chairman of the Committee on Expenditures in the Department of the Treasury (Seventeenth Congress). He served as member of the State senate 1830-1837. He was an unsuccessful Whig candidate for election to the United States Senate in 1839. He died in Buffalo, New York, September 19, 1859.
