[edit] POV concerns, plus tone tag

This looks like one of those glorifying biographies how some person seriously won at life since forever and how his death will be a tragedy to mankind. For that reason, it is biased (towards him) and not written in the tone that a Wikipedia article should be in. —this is messedrocker (talk) 06:38, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

Holy blowjobs! What is this doing in Wikipedia? It's supposed to tell us about him, not how great he is. Aside from that -- the man is a racecar driver, not the Pope. Rhombus 03:48, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

Okay, I've tried to clean it up, but it still needs work. Have at 'er. --Rhombus 04:26, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
It's something I've personally dubbed Enthusiast's Disease, where objectivity disappears due to said approval of the person on a level of personal taste. It regularly shows up on stubs in Wikipedia. -- Chr.K. 06:10, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
The problem is also not so much "enthusiasm" POV at times as it is writing that needs definite improvement, namely in avoiding redundancy. After pointing out his victory in the 1970 and '71 500s, one does not need to later point out that he won the 500 in 1970 and '71. -- Chr.K. 06:26, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

The article looks more like a Wikipedia article, so I've removed the tags. If you think I'm a jerk because I removed them, add them back on. —this is messedrocker (talk) 17:04, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] 2006 Arrest and Police Brutality case...

Shouldn't this be mentioned in the article?

Basically, Unser attempted to pass a police roadblock and the scene got ugly. Police claimed he refused to leave and resisted arrest. At trial, another officer testified on Unser's behalf, saying that the officers at the scene acted inappropriately and he was not resisting arrest. Unser was aquitted. Messiahxi (talk) 19:45, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

clearly no one feels all that strongly about this, so I guess I will try to find some time to add a brief section about this. It seems notable to me, but I'm open to discussion. Messiahxi (talk) 17:31, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
Well put - a paragraph like you have above seems reasonable. Royalbroil 17:37, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
