Talk:Al Steiner
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dude this site is nothing but a big advertisement for this guy and there is no neutrality, everything in here praises his ability as a writer instead of just listing the facts.
He's written a fair bit, and they're good stories, and well-regarded.
The statistics and ratings on the storiesonline site back this up. Aftermath has had 200,608 downloads, with an average rating of 9.73 out of ten. Doing It All Over has had 121,239, with a rating of 9.46. A Perfect World has had 77,770, with a rating of 9.6.
Those are pretty impressive numbers, and I'd say qualify him as significant enough for Wikipedia.
While I agree with the significance of Al Steiner's writing, the statistics on Storiesonline are currently almost meaningless. Everything scores highly. At the time that Doing it all Over and Aftermath were published, this was not the case. I think number of downloads is still valid.
As a fellow internet erotica writer--one whose name you'd most likely know if you read SOL--I can tell you that, if I had to make a case for any internet erotica writer to have a Wikipedia page, it'd be Al. His respect amongst his fellow authors is unparalleled. The SOL ratings are, I agree, meaningless. However, Al's respect throughout the erotica world is not. He's the best there is in our little world. BostonFrank 18:56, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
While his current ratings may be useless on SOL due to the newer methods of calculations, he is certaily on of the higest rated authors on the site. Bcihak 04:17, 17 March 2007 (UTC)BCIHAK
[edit] Agreed, he is the top author of online erotica today
As one of the more prolific and tougher reviewers on StoriesOnline, I have to agree with the assessment that Al Steiner is the top writer of online erotic. He masterfully blends depth of plot with some very erotic sexual scenes.
It should be noted that per the SOL webpage devoted to the Greenies/A Perfect World universe (listed incorrectly in the article as "Future Wars" universe), "Doing it all Over" (Please note correct capitalization of story title, per the SOL website) and "Aftermath" are not part of universe. That portion should be updated or removed.

[edit] Why is this marked "autobiography"?
This page wasn't created by the author calling himself Al Steiner. The Wikipedia editor who created it's an Australian, and Steiner clearly isn't. Garth M 03:11, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
