Al jawaher wal la'li is the first known manuscript in the history of the United Arab Emirates. It talks about all the Emirates plus the Emirate of Hamriyah which ceased existence in the early 1960s. The author is Abdullah al Mutawa, a pro-Saudi citizen of Sharjah. The book was printed in 1990 but was banned because of certain accusations it has to the ruling family in Abu Dhabi.
