Alan Westover (born September 7, 1954 in Napa Valley, California, U.S.) is a former basketball player in the Australian National Basketball League (NBL) and current basketball coach for the Melbourne Tigers.

[edit] Controversy

On March 7, 2008, he was fined AU $3,000 for "flipping the bird" to the Sydney Kings fans and for criticising the performance of the referees following the 95-74 loss to the Kings at the Sydney Entertainment Centre on March 5, 2008.[1][2]. It was the second such incident to occur following Chris Anstey's antics after their 115-112 overtime win against the Brisbane Bullets at the Brisbane Convention Centre six nights before in Game 2 of the Semi Finals Series.
