Al Qamar Online is one of the largest Urdu news and literature networks, and originates from London. Journalists such as Asaf Jillani (BBC) and the poet Safdar Hamadani are the among the directors of Al Qamar Online. M. Haroon Abbas Qamar, a journalist and software engineer is the founder of this online Urdu network.

Al Qamar Online Urdu News Network is the first institute to promulgate the Urdu Language on internet.^{[citation needed]} It is considered one of the largest and biggest websites written in Urdu. It has been decorated with the creations of many famous and well-known writers, thinkers and philosophers and is visited by thousands of people daily.
