Al Phaneuf is a former star defensive back in the Canadian Football League.
A graduate of the University of Kentucky, he played 3 years with the Montreal Alouettes (1969 to 1971) for a total of 42 games. His best year was 1970, when he intercepted 9 passes and was an all star and runner up for the CFL's Most Outstanding Canadian Award. He also played an important role in the Lark's Grey Cup victory in 1970, intercepting 2 passes in the 58th Grey Cup game. He also intercepted 4 passes in 1969 and 3 in 1971.
Presently, Al Phaneuf, Founder and President of Gracewood Products, located in Longwood, Florida, has been custom crafting wood products for over forty years. He learned his cabinet making trade in Montreal, Canada from master European & Canadian Craftsmen, and has worked as a trim carpenter and wood artisan for the past 25 years.
