Al Morganti

Michael "Al" Morganti is a nationally recognized hockey analyst who has covered the National Hockey League and international competitions. He is also a sports radio personality for 610 WIP (AM) in Philadelphia. Airing from 5:30 a.m. till 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time, along with co-hosts Angelo Cataldi and Rhea Hughes, the “Morning Show” is the highest rated sports radio show in the Philadelphia area.

From Boston and a product of Boston University, he was previously a hockey sports writer for The Philadelphia Inquirer, Al has been a co-host for the show since the early 1990s. Al is known for his “dry” humorous commentary on a subject that really interests him. He was also a regular hockey analyst for ESPN from 1993–2005 and now Comcast Sports Net in Philadelphia. He is a hockey analyst covering the Philadelphia Flyers and the NHL for Comcast SportsNet. Also a regular contributor to Toronto radio station CJCl.
After starting his journalism career in Boston, writing for the Boston Globe, Morganti became the Atlanta Constitution hockey beat writer, covering the Atlanta Flames. He also covered several Olympic Games, Canada Cups, World Cups, Wimbledon, and America's Cup competitions.
