Al Mello

Alphonse "Al" Mello Tavares (January 31, 1906 – December 6, 1943) was an American boxer who competed in the 1924 Summer Olympics.
He was born in Lowell, Massachusetts.
In 1924 he was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the welterweight class after losing to the upcoming silver medalist Héctor Méndez.
