Al McCandless

Alfred "Al" A. McCandless (b. July 23, 1927), a Republican politician from California
McCandless was born 1927 in Brawley, California. He grew up in Los Angeles and received a BA from UCLA in 1951. He served in the Marine Corps 1945–1946 and 1950–1952 during the Korean War. After the war, he was an automobile and truck dealer. He was elected to the Riverside County Board of Supervisors and served 1972–1982. He was elected to the 98th to 103rd Congress and served 1983–1995.
