Al Barrow

Al Barrow is the bass player of the British band Magnum.

Born in Wolverhampton, England, 27 November 1968, Barrow joined Magnum in 2001 after he was a member of Hard Rain, a group formed by Magnum-members Bob Catley and Tony Clarkin while activities around Magnum was set on pause. Officially the band was split, but made a comeback in 2001 with the album Breath of Life.

Barrow not only plays bass, but also has an interest in design and photography. With his company Generic Designs, he has designed album-covers not only for Magnum, but also several other artists world wide. The two latest albums of Magnum, Breath of Life and Brand New Morning, both have covers designed by Barrow. Before joining Magnum Alan has performed on many projects as session musician playing bass and vocals. He had his own band Sahara Darc and plans to re-record some of the songs he wrote in the 90's. Al is an endorse for WARWICK bass and amps in the UK.

He has 2 brothers Rob & Scott (both drummers) & a sister Sue who is a singer. He married his long time girlfriend Rachael Wilkinson in Oct 2006.

Alan is currently rehearsing to go on tour with Magnum to promote the new Album "Princess Alice & The Broken arrow. Released on SPV on Germany March 23rd 2007,Europe March 26th 2007,USA April 3rd 2007. It will also have a Japanese release.

While not on tour or recording in the studio Alan has a well established photographic and design business. He spends a lot of his time shooting moto-cross and other high octane sports.
