It is so because although the person is recognized in the west by the Arabic name, he was not an Arab. Westerners tend to lump all middle easterners together in one group, which is incorrect. Nayrizi was Persian, hence the name al-Nayrizi is incorrect even though prevalent, perhaps even in his own time, as Arabic was the lingua franca of scientists.--Zereshk 21:46, 1 August 2005 (UTC)

I formatted the Arabic script in the intro. His name is written in Arabic so I made it an Arabic link. If it were written in Persian someone could use {{PerB|}} instead of {{ArB|}} Cuñado - Talk 02:36, 5 April 2006 (UTC)
