Throughout the book, "aku aku" has this meaning, as well as that of guardian spirit, as the native first consult their aku aku's before revealing ancestral objects to Heyerdahl or co-operating with his research. Heyerdahl is given two aku aku's to whatch over some of the artifacts given by the natives. Will look up page references. Cheers, :) MikeReichold 14:48, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
