Aksoltan Ataýewa

Dr. Aksoltan (Toraýewna) Ataýewa (born 6 November 1944 in Ashgabat) has been the Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the United Nations since 23 February 1995. Previously, she was Deputy Minister of Public Health from 1985 to 1991 and Minister of Public Health from 1991 to 1994; from 1994 to 1995, she was both Minister of Social Security and President of the Trade Unions of Turkmenistan. She joined the ruling Democratic Party in 1992 and became a member of the People's Council in 1993.
