Akshay Kapoor (real name Sunny Gohil)[1] (born in 1982, Mumbai, India) is an Indian actor.

Akshay was born in India and moved to the United States when he was 10 years old. He spent his childhood and teens in New York and trained as a theatre actor having appeared in some Broadway plays. [2]He has since tried his luck in the Bollywood film industry.

He made his Bollywood film debut with the teen romantic comedy Popcorn Khao! Mast Ho Jao which released in 2004. In 2006 he starred in his second Bollywood film Alag, a remake of the Hollywood film Powder in which he played a man with extraordinary supernatural powers and with no hair on his entire body. Although both of the films he has appeared in failed at the box office he has got good reviews for his performances in both films.[3][4].

He has also appeared in a short film called A Beautiful Mind.... of a Gladiator which is a spoof of the Oscar-winning film A Beautiful Mind. In 2008 he will appear in an American comedy film titled Spring Broke.
