The Akron Quakers were a proposed franchise based in Akron, Ohio in the International Basketball League (2005-). The Quakers were slated to begin play in the 2007 season. Although the team was in the planning stage for months, the Quakers were eliminated in favor of the Akron Cougars recently relocated from Cuyahoga Falls, who were in turn replaced by the Akron Energy, who will begin play in 2008.
