Akodia is located at 23.38° N 76.6° E.[1] It has an average elevation of 458 metres (1502 feet).

Akodia is situated on Western Railway line from Bhopal to Ratlam.

As of 2001 India census,[2] Akodia had a population of 10,408. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Akodia has an average literacy rate of 60%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 61% of the males and 39% of females literate. 17% of the population is under 6 years of age.
