Akira Watanabe (渡辺明 Watanabe Akira?, b. 1954) was a Japanese motocross racer. He was the F.I.M. 125cc Motocross World Champion in 1978 while riding for the Suzuki factory racing team. He remains the only Japanese rider to win a motocross world championship.
