Akio Sato (politician)

Akio Sato (佐藤 昭郎? born February 10, 1943) is a Japanese politician of the Liberal Democratic Party, a member of the House of Councillors in the Diet (national legislature). A native of Hiroshima Prefecture and graduate of the University of Tokyo, he worked at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries from 1966 to 1996. In 1998, he was elected to the House of Councillors for the first time.
