Akimotoite

Akimotoite is a mineral in the Ilmenite group of minerals. Akimotoite is found mainly in Queensland, Australia. It has a vitreous luster, is colorless, and has a white or colorless streak. It is in the trigonal crystal system. It is the Silicon analogue of Geikielite. It is named after physicist Akimoto, who specialized in high-pressure research.
