- His particular contribution was the establishment of a comprehensive project for rural development, Comilla Model (1959) that earned him Magsaysay Award from Philippines and honorary Doctorate of Law from Michigan State University.
- In 1973, he went to Michigan State University as a Visiting Professor to remain there until 1979. During this time, he carried on advising Rural Development Academy at Bogra in northern Bangladesh, and Pakistan Academy for Rural Development, Peshawar. He also extensively travelled during this period in the capacities of speaker, advisor, or consultant on rural development programmes across the world.
- Council of Social Sciences, Pakistan (COSS) in collaboration with National Rural Support Programme (NRSP) and other institutions, awards an annual cash reward in the memory of Dr. Akhtar Hameed Khan.
- Expand the sections on Urban development initiatives and Awards and honours or simply merge it another section or lead.
- Rather i will suggest keep the awards section but give a brief description on what basis of qualification he received these awards. Also give the date of receiving the awards.
- Death and legacy section needs cleanup. either remove the subsections and simply divide them into sects by giving ;
- In Publications section give a brief start up.
