Ajoy Mukherjee

Ajoy Mukherjee was chief minister of West Bengal, India. He formed Bangla Congress through a split in the Indian National Congress in the 1960s. 1967-1969, 1969-1971 BC was a part of the United Front governments in the state, co-governing with the Left. Ajoy Mukherjee, the BC leader, was the Chief Minister. He hailed from Tamluk.
He was awarded Padma Vibhushan award in 1977.[1]
Ajoy Mukherjee died in 1986.
