Ajmeria

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ajmeria (Hindi: अजमेरिया) or Ajmeedia or Ajmidhia (Hindi: अजमीढिया) is gotra (clan) of Jats found in India.

[edit] Origin

Some Ajmerias claim descent from Nila, the youngest son of Samrat Bharat.[1] They were known as Ajmidhia or Ajmeria after Ajmidha.

According to another version, the Ajmerias were a group of people who came from the area around the city of Ajmer in Rajasthan and settled in various places. They were known as Ajmeria after the city of Ajmer.[2]
