Ajit, variously spelled Ajith or Ajeet is a common male Indian name derived from Sanskrit. The name means invincible or, literally, he who has not been conquered, from the Sanskrit 'a' (not) and 'jita' (conquered). In Hindu mythology, it was a name for both Shiva and Vishnu. A female version of the name may be Ajita, also spelled Ajitha or Ajeeta.
