[edit] Ais or Ice

It's Ais Kachang not Ice. Known as ABC that means Air Batu Campur (Mixed Ice) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Izzudin (talkcontribs) 15:17, 22 February 2007 (UTC).

it's ais.. and it's also kacang, not kachang.

[edit] Alternative Names

It's also called "shaved ice," originated from the process of making this dessert, shaving the ice to create bowls/plates of fluffy, snow-like ice product. Weiwie 05:18, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] This is shocking,but true!

apparently in malaysia in the late 70s, the ice that was needed to make ice kachang, purchased by the sellers of ice kachang was bought at the morgues for heavily discounted prices.!. eew:( my uncle used to live in malaysia and in his teens to gain a little extra pocket money he worked at a dessert shop in a food court that specialised in ice kachang-he once had to pick the ice up from the morgue so he knows and this is definitely factual real information, although it doesn't happen now so we're safe all you fellow ice kachang lovers!!!!!!! I hardly ever get to eat it cos I live is australia! BOO!!! oh well, i enjoy it while I can! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Fairee (talkcontribs) 07:53, 16 April 2007 (UTC).

[edit] Dubious claim

The claim that Formerly, it was made of only shaved ice and red beans is dubious as ais is not common in early time and those who can afford to buy ais (in tropica area) is unlikely to eat plain shaved ice, even with nuts. Sweetner made from coconut (nira) / kabung (Common Sugar Palm) is available even among the normal people. Yosri (talk) 13:20, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
