It would seem that the article should be named something like IATA message formats or something similar. Unless I'm missing something, there was no Airline teletype but rather an Airline teletype system. Vegaswikian 07:50, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

I suspect "torn tape" was the original foundation for airline message switching. This was displaced by schemes such as SITA High Level Network which was perhaps the first deployed packet switching system.Rdmoore6 19:30, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
