[edit] Fictional Examples

This type of machine is very common in fiction, particually sci-fi. Shouldn't there be section on it? Obvious recent examples would be Doctor Who (The Sound of Drums) and Sky Captain & the World of Tomorrow, both of which have hovering aircraft carriers. --J.StuartClarke (talk) 15:30, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
