[edit] Merge
The Air Force Special Tactics article should certainly be merged with this article. The units in the Special Tactics Groups are the most well known parts of AFSOC. There is no reason to have two separate articles. Outdawg (talk) 00:07, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
All the units in the Air Force Special Tactics article are a part of AFSOC. Air Force Special Tactics teams are not separate from AFSOC. If you say the AFSOC article is "about the organization and units of the command", the special tactics teams would definitely fall under that description.Outdawg (talk) 15:16, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
Thats not a bad idea. If you could change the name soon that would be good. There is an article named Air Force Special Ops that should probably be deleted because its almost an exact copy of the Air Force Special Tactics article.Outdawg (talk) 20:24, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] USAF Rescue Forces no longer under AFSOC
Removed reference to USAF Rescue forces joining AFSOC. This short-lived program ended in March 2006 when the assets were transferred back to ACC contol. All funding came from USAF (not SOCOM) and USAF wanted to exercise control over the forces. Since it was not a Special Operations mission per se, it was relinquished back to mainstream AF control

- Should hang on to all my AFSOC 'Air Rescue' junk in that case. user:FLJuJitsu —Preceding unsigned comment added by FLJuJitsu (talk • contribs) 04:25, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
