I would like to see proof that the quotation of John F. Kennedy's reference to the beret was, in context, directed towards the SERE beret or any beret in general. In context I believe President Kennedy was referring to the Green Beret of the U.S. Army Special Forces, in which he directly authorized the wear of. Kcmo83 (talk) 01:38, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
Same here regarding the Kennedy reference.
Kennedy specifically created the U.S. Army Special Forces and authorized the green beret, as has been referenced in many places.
